Maureen Fisher writes Romance

Transplanted from Scotland to Canada at the tender age of seven, Maureen is a voracious reader, bridge player, yoga enthusiast, seeker of personal and spiritual growth, pickleball enthusiast, and infrequent but avid gourmet cook. She loves the outdoor life and often goes hiking and cycling with her husband. She's swum with sharks in the Galapagos, walked with Bushmen in the Serengeti, sampled lamb criadillas (don’t ask!!!) in Iguazu Falls, snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef, ridden Maureen finds thatan elephant in Thailand.

Why she writes Romance

Maureen finds that romance is a much maligned, and ridiculed genre. She says that although is romance treated as the poor cousin of literature, it happens to be the most difficult genre of all to write, at least, to write well. Why? Because romance is the single genre where readers always know how the book will end before so much as opening the cover—with a happy-ever-after ending. It’s a promise the genre makes to its readers. Therefore, to hold a reader’s interest, a romance novel must be extraordinary, with complex and fascinating characters who touch the reader’s emotions, and plots full of unexpected twists and turns, making it impossible to put the book down until that promised happy-ever-after ending.

Her main reason for choosing the genre is to give readers an escape from their problems.

In a world of growing uncertainty. Everyone experiences private traumas and tragedies.

Maureen views romance as an antidote to despair. By creating a world of wonder, a world of falling in love, of unlimited possibilities, of overcoming impossible odds to live happily ever after, a romance novel offers hope and provides readers with emotional experiences that mirror certain fundamental desires in life.

Simply put, she writes romance because she likes to think her

books help the reader forget all of life’s demands and problems, if only for a few hours.

My Most Recent Book: Cold Feet Fever

Secrets, Crime & Suspense Have Never Been So Much Fun—Or So Romantic

A bad boy gambler with a lazy streak and commitment issues: Owning Kinki, Atlantic City’s first paranormal nightclub, isn’t as easy—or as much fun—as Sam Jackson anticipated. Someone’s trying to shut him down before he opens, he’s on the verge of bankruptcy, and his matchmaking granddaddy has hired a sexy event planner with a mysterious background, bossy disposition, and criminal ties.

A mortician-turned-event-planner with big secrets: A job as event planner offers single mom, Katie Deluca, her last chance to escape her past. Turns out party planning is more difficult than organizing funerals. Plus, the nightclub owner, although perfect for awakening her sensuality, couldn’t be more wrong for the stability she craves.

Forced to join forces, they combat obstacles preventing a kick-ass grand opening: Katie is the one person who can salvage Kinki—and heal Sam’s emotional wounds. Together, the couple tangles with a goofy dog, exploding trucks, an unfortunate synchronized swimming episode, homicidal thugs, a corrupt building inspector, disappearing corpses, a kidnapping, and the threat of live cremation, all to impress the vampire-wannabes of Atlantic City.

Cold Feet Fever is available on Amazon as a kindle e-book and paperback, also on Kindle Unlimited: myBook.to/CFF
